the veritable
This blog is more or less the ramblings and sometimes rantings of a woman who is reinventing herself and her faith.

This my prayer
I am your lovely bride
Who dances in the morning light
And rests with You in the calm of evening

Humility
Humility seems to be my destiny.
It comes in the form of my helplessness, exposed and vulnerable to the world. Like a baby, wailing and wildly flailing my arms to resist the warm embrace of a loving parent - I rebel. I fight against what is best for me. Is it trust I lack?
Still, I always surrender in my exhaustion to the presence of Love, who wraps His arms around me to cover my nakedness. It is Love rocking me to sleep to the rhythm of heavenly peace...
Still, I always surrender in my exhaustion to the presence of Love, who wraps His arms around me to cover my nakedness. It is Love rocking me to sleep to the rhythm of heavenly peace...
And it comes in my suffering. I am often broken, beaten, and bruised by the spiritual deceits of my own heart and mind. Soon I can no longer recognize myself, disfigured by the lies - I lie dying on a cross I built with my own design...
Only Love can save me then - resurrecting me from the edge of darkness. Love revives me and whisks me away on a promise and hope that He will rescue me again, again, and again.
Humility is my destiny.

I HATE OCCUPY WALL STREET
I am an American citizen and the right to freely speak and protest is a beautiful thing, rights extended to us by our founding fathers and secured to future generations by our Constitution. On August 28th, 2010, I witnessed a quiet and respectful demonstration by thousands of Americans who treaded upon the Washington lawn with respect and called without threats for us to return to our original values.
Today, I am filled with disgust with the behavior of protestors on Wall Street who taunt and shout profanities at our police, using threats and anger to intimidate their "enemies." Are the bankers really to blame for our financial crisis? The angry chants and hostile posture towards our financial institutions echoes the same sentiments I read about in pre-Hitler Germany. The rich Jews were blamed and persecuted there, who are we blaming here and now in America? Who do we wish to pay for our misery?
We the people are corrupt. We have prostituted ourselves, our families, our values for gratification and political lies. We continue to exterminate human life that we deem worthless and unwanted. We cherish and extol debased behaviors and allow our children to act shameful.
No one made us do anything. We choose to live beyond our means. We choose to accept the bribes and consumer lies.
Instead of marching down wall street, we should be excavating - NO DEMOLISHING - our own homes, stripping away the filth and mire we have allowed to build up in our lives and keep us from being real Americans....
